Cutting Instructions (this is for 1 sashing – you could easily make an extra 9 patch for a cornerstone as well)

  • Fabric 1 (light)– 3 strips:  1.5” x 10”

  • Fabric 2 (dark) – 3 strips: 1.5” x 10”

014

Sandwich one dark strip between two light strips and sew together.

016

Iron seams away from the light fabric.

018

Cut each strip into 6 – 1.5” x 3.5” strips.    Arrange in a 9 patch pattern and sew together to make your 36 patch sashing!  Make an extra 9 patch for a cornerstone option if you wish!

Here’s what some of my blocks look like with the fun sashings between them.  I have so many more of these to share with you!  If you check out the cornerstones you can see that I’m also using some fabrics that have houses or trees on them for those pieces as well!  This is seriously going to be one fun quilt!
