Of Another Era - Project Quilting 17.4 Challenge

Hi everyone! Kim here quickly! I just had a hysterectomy on last week so I am in recovery right now. I will do my best to help you all as much as I can but please give me grace if you don't hear from me right away. I still plan on helping with the linking up and all but I have no idea how I'm going to feel. Thank you for your support and I hope you enjoy this weeks challenge!

And now to the fourth challenge ...

Hello! This is Trish, your PQ secret keeper and challenge designer. Let's get right to the fourth challenge!

Project Quilting Challenge 17.4 - Of Another Era

Taylor Swift got us all thinking about the "eras" of a life - the cycles of personality, style, and influence that help define a period of time. This week I'd like you to explore a different era, either through color and fabric choices or by style. Will you make a Civil War era piece? Embrace the hippie revolution? Or lean into the wonder of a child's dinosaur era?

Rule One: explore a different era

Projects need to be created during the week of the challenge (started on or after February 15, finished by February 22).

Your project does not need to be a traditional quilt, but must meet at least one of these three requirements:

  • include patchwork

  • include appliqué

  • have 3 layers stitched together by hand or machine.

Incomplete or unfinished does not qualify. Every challenge piece must be a FINISHED project seen through from INCEPTION to COMPLETION during the challenge timeline.

Link up at the bottom of THIS PAGE by Sunday, February 22 at noon CST (here’s a link to time zone converter to calculate for Central Standard Time: www.thetimezoneconverter.com)

  • Add to the linky the URL of your project’s blog post, instagram picture, or public facebook posting

  • Alternately, by 11am on Sunday, February 22 you may email a picture and description to {projectquilting at gmail dot com} with PROJECT QUILTING in the subject line. Yes – that deadline is one hour earlier because Kim needs some time to get it done.

Good luck, and remember to HAVE FUN! Don’t forget to post progress pictures because that’s part of the fun.
