Happy Tuesday everyone! Sorry for the delay in post! I completely forgot about an appointment for Capri this afternoon and it messed up my plans! But I’m super excited to be sharing with you the ELVENTH block tutorial in the Home Sweet Home Quilt Along. Today’s block comes from Shelly Pagliai of Prairie Moon Quilts! Before we get to the block I want to share with you a little background on our block designer. What is your crafting style? I don’t really have a “style”. I like everything, so I tend to try a bit of everything. And I’ve been known to mix a lot of different styles together into one piece. How did you get started creating? I can remember my mother teaching me to embroider at the age of 5 (I was terrible at it!). My grandmother enrolled me in 4-H at the age of 8, where I learned to sew and knit. I started my first quilt at the age of 12, and it’s been all downhill from there. A friend once kindly said to me: “There’s a fine line between hobby and mental illness.” Do you have a favorite piece? Why is it your favorite? I have a real problem with picking favorites. I’m like a kid in a candy store: “That one! No, wait, that one! No, no, no, this one!” I make my own self nuts. So while I can’t say this is my favorite, it is one I like a lot.

I made it for my daughter, Wessal, whose name means “passion” . . . It’s a Rose of Sharon sampler quilt and became my first Block-of-the-Month pattern series. What is your favorite crafty blog to follow/read? Ugh, there’s that favorite thing again. How can I pick? There are so many that I go back to over and over again. I do like my friend, Victoria’s, blog: http://bumblebeansinc.blogspot.com and her two “spinoff ” blogs that I get to contribute to: http://www.15minutesplay.com and http://modern8create.blogspot.com They challenge me and inspire me to do things I might not ever think to try on my own, and I’ve made some pretty neat things because of them. Which part of the creating process does you like the most? All of it Which part of the creating process do you dislike the most? None of it Favorite Adhesive: I don’t use adhesives that I can think of when quilting, other than I do go through quite a few Bandaids. Favorite Movie: Lonesome Dove Beverage of Choice: Coffee with way too much half-n-half in it Sweet or Salty? depends on the moment Number 1 on your Bucket List: I don’t really have a bucket list. But I’ve not yet seen the Grand Canyon, so that might be fun to do someday Stay in touch with Shelly by following her in online endeavors: Web site: http://www.prairiemoonquilts.com Blog: http://prairiemoonquilts.wordpress.com Flickr Group: Prairie Moon Quilts Twitter: http://twitter.com/prairiemoonqlts Email: shelly {at} prairiemoonquilts {dot} com And now it’s time –
