Free Form Super Mini Spool Quilt

This month’s Project QUILTING Off Season Challenge was ‘Independence” One could interpret the word however they seemed fit.
I went the ‘independence from traditional 1/4″ seams…or I guess…seams at all!’ route.
This quilt is tiny! it’s just a 13” square. I had a lot going on this month but I really wanted to at least something for the challenge…so here’s what I did!
It used 100% scraps and even an ‘orphan block’ from my Michael Miller Modern Quilt Guild Challenge Quilt.
I also attempted a faced binding because I wanted to see if I could do it before I tried it on a different quilt. I thought it was ‘okay’ – not my favorite but can see why it would be useful at times. So…would you like a tutorial on how to do this? I’m going to be putting one up to give folks some ideas for Fabric N Quilts Scrap Quilt challenge and it’s going to be a free form block. Would you like a tutorial on either:
A. raw edge free form
or
B. free form with nice seams.
Leave a comment below and let me know which you’d prefer! Be sure to link up your ‘Independence’ quilts before the end of the day on Thursday. Do that HERE.
