As more blocks are accumulating on my design wall I’m realizing that committing to a different pattern for each sashing is quite the commitment and I really need to get moving on some more designs.  Here’s a nice quick one that you can use for a cornerstone too!

Cutting Instructions (will make 1 sashing strip and 1 cornerstone):

Dark (green polka dot):  1 strip – 2” x 21” Medium (pink peace signs): 1 strip – 2” x 21”

Step 1.  Sew the two strips together and iron towards the darker strip.

Step 2.  Cut into 10 – 2-inch strips.

Step 3.  Sew the 2” x 3.5” pieces so the colors are opposite each other.  Use the iron fold to help match your corners.

Create 5, 4-patch pairs.

Step 4.  Sew 4 of these pairs together to create a sashing strip.  Leave one four patch alone for a cornerstone.   See – I told you – easy peasy!
