I couldn’t think of anything to blog about today…I’ve been busy promoting the upcoming Craftacular and my giveaway.  Then I realized – I have LOTS of Sashing Tutorials left!  So here it is…

38.  Zig Zag Pathways Sashing Tutorial

a Tutorial for the Home Sweet Home Quilt Along

Cutting Instructions

061

Fabric 1 (light): 1 strip 32” x 1.25”

Fabric 2 (dark): 1 strip 32” x 1.25”

Construction Instructions

062

1.  Sew the two strips together and iron towards the darker color.

063

2.  Cut the strip into 16 – 2” pieces.  Arrange them as shown in the picture above – creating a ‘zig zag’

064

3.  Sew them all together!  I sewed the top and bottom strips first and then all the little strips together.  My goal in quilting is to ALWAYS sew the shortest seam feasibly possible.  It seems to make me a more accurate sewer.
