January Inspiration for the #DresdenNeighborhoodSAL

On the 9th of each month I’ll be sharing with you something special to help inspire you to create an unique Dresden Neighborhood block.  It’s been so fun to watch just how excited folks are about this Sew Along and the ideas that are popping up all over the place – especially in my “Quilt and Dream Along with Kim Lapacek” facebook group.

One thing I’ve seen a bit is the idea to make special holiday/seasons Dresden Neighborhoods.  Even though I’m not going to share any of my work I thought it would be good to make sure you have a list of all the holidays and other special days in January in case you want to get started today!  You can find all the bizarre and unique holidays HERE – I’m just going to highlight a few I think would be fun to incorporate into a house!

January 1st – obviously New Year’s Day but did you also know it is National Hangover Day?  I am not hungover this morning but I am struggling to get this post done so I can get to bed.  I started 2018 off at a 108 Sun Salutation Hot Yoga class and my body is aching to just lay and not move for a bit. January 3rd – Fruitcake Toss Day … this one is all about throwing away your old fruitcake in a fun way … I can only imagine what the house might look like for this one! January 5th – National Bird DayJanuary 8th – Bubble Bath DayJanuary 10th – Houseplant Appreciation DayJanuary 13th – Make Your Dream Come True Day – no idea how this works into a house but I think it’s an awesome day!
