Happy Monday everyone! I am one of those weirdo’s who love Mondays! I think it has to do with being a stay at home mom and the majority of my kiddo’s heading back to school. I can get a few things done with some peace (if Pip allows it). Today I’m going to share with you the sixth layout for the #scrappycrownalong. I’m having fun with these and I hope you are too!
To make this block – you need to make
2 – 15” Crown of Thorn Blocks
3 – 10” Crown of Thorn Blocks
6 – 5” Crown of Thorn Blocks
This is the last block that will use 15” Crown of Thorn blocks so if you plan on following my plan I would be sure to count where you’re at so you don’t get too far ahead of yourself. If you’ve already made more than 14 of them – no worries! You can always make a mini!
Here are my six blocks laid out in EQ7.
This is my actual Block 6. I did have a couple of 5” crown of thorns made but I wanted to show you how dramatic those large half square triangles can be when you group them together in a block. I’m also super excited about how well the dots in my Cotton + Steel fabric create a point in the middle two blocks! I didn’t even really plan that!
Here are my six blocks laid out in my quilt so far! This is just so cool! Layout 7 will be posted next Monday. I have to focus on my Project QUILTING quilt this week! Please use #scrappycrownalong to share your photo’s! Also – join in the #scrappycrownalong flickr group and share your progress photo’s there!
