Mercedi is a First Grader

Just over a week ago, my oldest…Mercedi Rose, started first grade. 

She was very excited to get back to her friends and to learning again!   I loved school as a child and I really hope my kiddo’s do too…so far so good…

Pip really wanted to go to school too…her sisters were kind enough to find her a backpack.

So…I may have missed the note about the Open House they had before school started where you could drop off all their supplies, find the classroom and meet the teacher.  Which meant – no bus for Cedi on the first day.  We brought her to school to help her find her way and carry all the many things she had to bring (including thirty-six sharpened pencils).

She has such a cute desk!

So far we’re a week in and things are going well.  Cedi – my chatter at homes turns out to be super shy at school.  But, I chatted with her teacher for a few minutes this afternoon and it sounds like she’s doing just fine.  Fingers crossed!
