Happy Sunday everyone!  I hope you are all as excited for the 4th season of Project QUILTING as I am!  I have been trying to patiently wait for this moment – those of you that follow Project QUILTING on facebook know that I haven’t been too good at that patience thing.

I just want to remind everyone that these challenges are meant to be inspirational and FUN!  I know the pressure of a week is on but trust me – it will be so nice to have COMPLETED a quilting project ALREADY in 2013!  Every week that you enter a piece for the challenge you are entered into a hat to win one of the amazing prizes from our sponsors!  Your name will also be added into the final hat at the completion of the season for an opportunity to win the GRAND PRIZE!  Inspiration, fun AND Prizes!?  Can it get much better?

Anyway – before we get to the first challenge I would like to run through the list of prizes and sponsors for this week:

PRIZES!

Each challenge that you complete a quilt for your name will be put into hat. One of my three beautiful girls will draw a name randomly for each prize.

***PLEASE NOTE! The photo’s shown from the sponsors are just examples of the amazing items the shops are offering. They are not necessarily the prize you are receiving if you win.***

  • Your inspiration for this challenge is Square in a Square. Interpret it however you’d like. It is an inspiration, not a pattern, so be creative.

  • Your project can be any size or shape. It does not need to be a traditional quilt.

  • Your project must have a name.

  •   Please remember that these projects need to be created during the week of the challenge.

  •   POST your entries with a description of your creative process, including where you are (ie, I create in Madison, WI) and the size of your project by Sunday, January 13th, 2013, at noon, CDT, to this flickr group, Project QUILTING with Persimon Dreams –OR email a picture/description of your completed project to {lapaceksorchard at gmail dot com} with PROJECT QUILTING in the subject line.

If you wish to receive critiques on your piece – the good and critical – please add your photo’s to this group as well: http://www.flickr.com/groups/1628629@N24/

Are you stuck?  Need a little ‘Tim Gunn’ advice during the week?  Or are you just so excited on how things are going along and what to share your WIP?  We have a group for that!http://www.flickr.com/groups/1430386@N24/

If this is the first Project Quilting challenge you’ve participated in, please email Kim at {lapaceksorchard at gmail dot com} with PROJECT QUILTING in the subject line so that Kim can keep you updated on the behind the scenes going-ons.

NEW THIS SEASON!  Linky Party!

Add blog posts or flickr photo’s of your thought process/works in progress etc throughout the week to the linky party below!  Then we can all easily follow along with you!  This is my very first linky party so if you have any suggestions on how I can make it better please let me know!

With that – good luck to everyone!  Don’t forget – you can find Project QUILTING on Facebook AND I’m sponsoring #talknt THIS Tuesday, January 8th on twitter. It will be a great opportunity for you to ask me any questions you may have.  If you’ve never joined into #talknt before I highly recommend it – I look forward to it every Tuesday!
