Quodlibet Workshop with Judy Hashieder

Not too long ago I dropped a snack off for Cedi at school.  I had some time to burn before she was done with school so I made a quick visit to the Village Creek Quilt Shop in Lodi, WI.  It’s so much easier to thoroughly look through a quilt shop when you don’t have tiny fingers to worry about.

As I was chatting with Patti, the owner, I saw the pattern for a quilt I had been drooling over at the Quilts by Barb Quilt Retreat for the last few years.

It was the Quodlibet Quilt designed by Judy Hashieder.   I immediately wanted to buy it BUT it turns out – it was Patti’s last pattern that she was using to get ready FOR THE CLASS JUDY WAS TEACHING in February!  I’m sure you’ve all guessed by now what I’ll be doing tonight:

February 5

5:30pm to 8:30pm

Judy will guide you through this pattern of flying geese, checkered boards, square in a square, zigzag, diamond in a diamond, funky rails and chevrons while creating a unique quilt.Fee: $35.00pattern required: $8.50Instructor: Judy HashiederLevel: intermediate

Here’s the quilt that started my obsession.

Linda Yatzer was working on this quilt for at least two Quilts by Barb Quilt Retreats.  I couldn’t stop looking at it – so so so incredible!  At the last retreat her quilt was done and she shared it with us all at Shown N Tell Time.

Barb quilted Linda Yatzer’s quilt and it is seriously just gorgeous!  For tonight I have to bring some fabrics to work on but I can’t decide what to do.  I LOVE the white background…looks incredible but I sort of feel like I need to do something different.  Since I have so man other things to stress about this week, my plan is to bring along the fabrics for the quilt I’m working on for my brother.  I’ll learn how to make the blocks and add them into his sampler.  Then – I’ll have the pattern, the knowledge, and some time to decide exactly the direction I want to go…

Can you tell I’m excited!?  I LOVE THIS QUILT!
