Star Cakes–Finished!

I have a finish to share with you today!  Todays #IGQuiltFest prompt was #WIP (Work in Progress) and at the beginning of the day I was still sewing the binding on this one (see the picture by clicking HERE). It is a smaller quilt so it was a quick finish even with hand binding the quilt. I sent the Star Cakes Quilt Top I made in January to Barb Raisbeck for the quilting.  Now, it’s not a huge quilt and I could have quilted it myself … but I honestly just didn’t have the time and my friends baby is due in April!

And – Barb did a wonderful job!  It’s the perfect quilt design for a baby boy!

I bound the quilt with a colorful stripe … I thought it was a good match with all the different colors happening in this quilt.

Another close up of the awesome quilting!

I backed the quilt with this bright blue piece of corduroy.  I figure it would be a great back so it could handle being on the floor, in the grass, or wherever little baby boy wants to be!  Now I just have to get a label on it and get it in the mail before the little guy arrives!
