The Glitter Workshop – DIY FUN and Lots of Vintage and Handmade Goodies

I’ve been so busy blogging about all the Project QUILTING craziness that I haven’t had time to put up some posts on some of the other fun things I’ve been doing. My friend, Naomi, an amazing entrepreneur recently opened a new gift shop on the West Side of Madison – the Glitter Workshop. You can find lots of fun handmade goodies there as well as an adorable vintage boutique that will be officially opening next Saturday, February 12th from 10am to 8pm (although you can shop for lots of goodies right now too).
One of the other things I’ve been enjoying – and taking advantage of – are the classes that are being taught in the ‘back room’.
In January, I packed the girls up and we went to the Glitter WorkShop to participate in Mindy Kuen’s metal stamping class.
Whoever came had the opportunity to stamp their very own necklace or bracelet with the expert guidance of Mindy.
Here are my girls – Mercied and Capri – making their Grandma a pendant for her birthday. They each picked out their metal pendants and then let me know if they wanted small or capital letters in their name.
When the stamping is done the girls picked out the fiber for the necklace (one pink cord and one blue cord of course). They really enjoyed helping make something for their Grandma and you should have seen how proud they were to give her the necklace!
When they tired from the class and waiting for mama to shop they enjoyed hanging out in the kids playroom of the shop.
Naomi has this set up fantastically and I know my kids are not the only kids that enjoy it!
