Yo-Yo Christmas Tree

Some people collect Santa’s, some collect snowmen, and I collect Christmas Trees.  I like collecting the trees I think because trees have always been so inspiring to me.  You’ll even often find them in quilts I make.  Last year my mother-in-law made me a super cool Christmas Tree out of fabric yo-yo’s for my collection. 

If you set it just right it can stand up … but it’s pretty fun when it’s droopy like this.

She also made smaller versions of the yo-yo trees for ornaments for my daughters and they also make me smile!

These fun decorations are great ways to use up some of those fabric scraps!  And yo-yo’s are great to make “on the go” if you’re looking for some handwork.
