Curvy Geese Trees Quilt

At this point this post is going to be fairly bare bones … I’ll come back and add more details in tomorrow or Sunday.  I was super lucky to get a go through a great 2015 cleanse this morning via the stomach flu. But – I really wanted to share with you my Project QUILTING quilt.

I call it ‘Curvy Geese Trees’ (unless Trisha has a better name she’d like to suggest …)  I was inspired by the Project QUILTING ‘Tree’ Challenge AND

the Prairie Heritage Quilt Guild ‘Curves’ challenge.  We had to incorporate the chevron red/yellow/blue/green/orange fabric into our design that also followed the theme ‘curves’.  I used Jeli Quilts’ Double Goose Paper Pieced pattern to create my geese trees.

I love my little geese trees!  I have one that just used the inner geese for one small tree.

And then I did a double geese for the bigger trees.

I free motion quilted the quilt using my Bernina 750

and three different shades of Aurifil thread. UPDATE 1/10/15

Turns out … I wasn’t quite done with my quilt when I posted this on Friday.  This quilt wasn’t finished until I added a little glitz …

Some sequins to be precise.  They add just the right amount of pop!
