Preparing for Season 11 of Project QUILTING

With Season 11 of Project QUILTING approaching quilting – the first challenge is posted in two weeks – it’s time to start preparing yourself, your space, and your supplies for the challenge.

In all reality, all you really need is the basics – needle, thread, fabric.  What I’m going to share with you are “things” that could help bring your challenge to the next level but are completely

“What are your “go-to” tools and notions for Project QUILTING Challenges?”

The other day I asked the question “What are your “go-to” tools and notions for Project QUILTING Challenges?” in the Project QUILTING facebook page.  These answers are from Project QUILTING veterans so these are some folks who know what they’re doing.

Katie Bishop said – Engineering paper and a clean work space 😁 Which is really only a notion in my head…

A glass of wine was Jan Koehn’s advice!  I’d cheers to that!  And the Fat Quarter Shop has a really cute collection of fun quilty wine glasses!

Anita Simmons Jackson posted “

I like to use Heat n Bond lite, Aurifil threads, and the seam ripper always seems to come I so handy! Lol”

“My Bernina feet #20, #39, and the 10D. Plus Acorn glue and plastic clips for easy binding!” are what Liz Campbell has on hand for Project QUILTING Challenge weeks.

Diana Wylie makes sure she has plenty of fabric scraps and her seam ripper!

Sally Manke “Can’t do anything without my Hera Tool!”  This is something I don’t have in my tool collection yet – I’ll have to look into it!

Carla Henton likes to stock up on “Time and Wine”.

Pam Geisel wrote “I like to couch yarn on top of my quilts.”

“A bottle of glue, fusible web, paper & pencil, and my box of batik scraps!” are all on Amy Olsen-Linn’s list!

All Janet Hehemann Maly needs is “Chocolate!”

Wynn Martin only needs “Good lighting and a comfortable chair while stitching.”

“Laptop/printer and my Featherweight” is what Karen Wall Johnston needs for Project QUILTING Challenges.

Oliso Smart Iron

Wendy Foster Birch has her “Madeira threads, rotary cutter, steam iron and Best Press.”

Linda Mincher needs “Soft-Fuse for any applique I do.”

Carolyn Daniela wrote “Love my precut stash and my brother machine or my feather weight.”

and Joy Lamphere uses “EQ8, fusible web, a good size stash and my Bernina 770.”

I think all of these supplies and tips are perfect for preparing for the 11th season of Project QUILTING.  If you have any great tips or tricks for upping your game during Project QUILTING challenges please feel free to leave a comment!
