Q.1 – BIG – Challenge 1 of Project QUILTING Quarantine 2020

Hey gang – it’s Trish. Thought you’d seen the last of me for a while? No way! We wouldn’t abandon you in this time of need.

So let’s keep challenging. Now, since there are no prizes in PQQ2020, you can decide how “perfectly” you want to play by the rules. I mean, honestly, it’s just about DOING SOMETHING PRODUCTIVE so we don’t all go stir crazy, right? And we’ll keep doing this as long as it stays fun and relevant.

So without further delay, here’s the quest I’m issuing this week:

PQQ2020 – Q1 BIG

Since our individual worlds have constricted to home and immediate needs, I think this is the perfect time to think big, big, BIG!

You can interpret that several ways: use large-scale prints in your fabrics, make a bigger project than usual, use a “big” theme, blow up a small subject much larger than life, or enlarge the grid-scale of your blocks to try a block 16″ or larger.

Your project does not need to be a traditional quilt but must meet at least one of these requirements: include patchwork, include appliqué, have 3 layers stitched together by hand or machine.

There is no size limit – make it as big or little as you want.

Each piece must stand alone as DONE to count.

You have one week to meet the challenge. Every challenge piece must be a FINISHED project seen through from INCEPTION to COMPLETION during the challenge timeline – that is, started on or after March 29, 2020, and posted by noon Central April 5, 2020.

·        Alternately, by 11am on Sunday, April 5 you may email a picture and description to {lapaceksorchard@gmail.com} with PROJECT QUILTING in the subject line. Yes – that deadline is one hour earlier because it requires more work for Kim.
